Income member Kirsten Kaiser Kus recently published an article for CLM Magazine titled, “Hazards At Home: Mitigating the Dangers of an At-Home Workplace.” Kirsten co-authored the article with Continental Western Group’s Workers’ Recovery Unit Director, Claire Muselman and North American Risk Services’ Workers’ Compensation Unit Manager, Michelle Kirkland.
“Hazards at Home” discusses issues employers are currently facing in light of the influx of workers’ compensation claims from employees now working at home due to COVID-19. Kirsten, Claire and Michelle provide practical strategies and parameters employers and carriers can utilize for employees working from home.
Some of the suggested tips include sending an email to set the work day’s tone, creating a team calendar, asking staff to keep a log of items they work on daily, creating a buddy system, setting virtual social hours to check-in and promoting a work/life balance.
